OSCAR-14

The OSCAR-14 satellite, launched in 1967, was one of the U.S. Navy's navigation satellites. The data for this satellite were obtained as part of the MEDOC Campaign, an internation Doppler data program. The tracking data are valuable because of the unique polar inclination of the satellite orbit.

EGM96 included OSCAR-14 data from August through October, 1980. The data are estimated to have a true noise of about 1.2 cm/s, depending on the receivers that tracked the satellite.
