SLR2000 consists of ten major subsystems:

  1. 40 cm off-axis Telescope assembly
  2. Arcsecond precision Tracking Mount
  3. Quadrant microchannel plate photomultiplier Detector
  4. Optical Transceiver
  5. Microlaser
  6. Smart Meteorological Station
  7. Receiver Electronics, including event timer, range gate generator, and associated electronics
  8. Environmental Shelter with azimuth tracking dome
  9. Health and Safety system
  10. System Software
