IMPORTANT: By now, we have received very few final registrations for the APSG meeting. Since we can not guarantee room prices and availability for the Sofitel hotel beyond March 31t*, we urge people not yet registered to fill in the joined final registration form as soon as possible.

Passports and Visas

No visas are required for visitors coming from the European Community, USA and Japan for a stay of up to 3 months and for visitors coming from New Zealand and South Korea for a stay of up to 1 month. Visitors from all other countries including Australia, China, Russia, North Korea, and Indonesia will need a visa (see a French Consulate near you). Your passport must be valid at least 6 months after the date of entry in French Polynesia. A return travel document and ticket is required. Due to the time required to process visa applications by the French authorities, we urge you to start the process right away. If you need a letter of invitation please contact the Secretariat.

Hotels and Meals

The meeting will be held at the Sofitel Maeva Beach Hotel along with accommodations for the meeting participants. All rooms are air-conditioned, have bathroom facilities and colour TV. The hotel is located on the lagoon at a walking distance of the University campus and the Tahiti Geodetic Observatory and is 10 min by car from Papeete. The hotel has 224 rooms, 3 restaurants, 2 bars, a large swimming pool, two lighted tennis courts and a white sand beach.

Prices for rooms including full Buffet Breakfast and all taxes are:

Single room (1 person) 13380 XFP ($US 122)
Double room (2 people) 14880 XFP ($US 135 or $US 68 per person)

Lunches at the hotel will add 2700 XFP ($US 24.50) per day.

These are special rates for the conference participants which apply only if reservations are made through the conference organizers.

Registration Fee

A registration fee of 7500 XFP ($US68) will be charged to each participant to defray some of the cost for refreshments and support services required for the meeting.
